Dogs Available for Adoption

Welcome to SKD, SaveKoreanDogs, the dog meat trade survivors! We just hit over 1,500 dogs, the number of adopted to US, Canada and the UK including two in Singapore, we are going at 1,509 as of March 2018.
The dogs in the available list are done with basic veterinary care, vaccinated, medically cleared and ready to fly. All in the list are vaccinated as required by US and Canada quarantine relukiquirements, DHPP/DHPPLL and Rabies. We spayed/neuter the dogs (with an exception of less than 6 months) right after the dogs came to our care straight from the meat farms and slaughterhouses all over Korea.

Most of the dogs we rescued are either too traumatized if not crave for love and attention. If you are not shopping for a dog but want to save a dog, this is the right place for you to pick your life time companion/partner.

From time to time, those still under treatments such as heartworm, skin issues, or malnourished are not listed. Currently, all are fully vaccinated (Some puppies are waiting for 2nd or 3rd shots), spayed/neutered and health checked. FYI, those less than 6 months are not spayed/neutered, some found with heartworm positive are being treated two by two, three by three. Currnently, we have eight rescued from Dog Tonic Farm under treatments.

Our records show almost half of the rescued adult dogs (those above 1 year only) are often found with heartworm positive. We would like to share the burden of long treatment process, if you can take of it after your adoption, we can sponsor half of the treatment costs. It takes minimum two full months as its in three stages, 2-4 weeks of pre treatment is required before Immiticide injection, after the big shot, 2-4 weeks of post treatment can be given. Test kit after a month will determine its clearance, one last test 2-3 months later will clear 100% including the worm eggs.

We need to mention that we won’t be able to describe exact weight as they gain so much weight after our care. The difference is huge. As for Linda (lives in Seattle now) was found so malnourished upon rescue but gained 9 kg (20 pounds) over three months since the rescue in February 2017. The weight ranges, as for Jindo mix its normally 20 to 35 pounds when fully grown, for Hound/Tosa mix, they are minimum 50 to 60 pounds. We’ve had Tosa/Hound mix who were over 100 pounds.
Please read the adoption process before you pick your dog. Thank you!
