He was rescued with Jennifer in July 2021 when Nami pulled them from a dog meat restaurant. It was close call.<\/p>\n<p>James is one-eyed. No idea how the injury happened but the eye was bleeding and needed to be removed right away. Nami rushed him to Dr. Kim for surgery to remove his injured eye. He doesn&#8217;t seem to care much about being one-eyed, he&#8217;s a happy go lucky, care free boy.<\/p>\n<p>James is very affectionate. He is a super happy boy who loves being around people. He will jump and dance when he sees Nami and the Sanctuary volunteers, and he&#8217;s always ready to go for walks.<\/p>\n<p>James is currently fostered in Plainview, NY (near Long Island) ready and waiting for a home of his own.<\/p>\n<p>Here are notes from his foster home: &#8220;Look who has learned &#8220;sit&#8221; in English! I&#8217;m so proud of our foster James. <span class=\"pq6dq46d tbxw36s4 knj5qynh kvgmc6g5 ditlmg2l oygrvhab nvdbi5me sf5mxxl7 gl3lb2sf hhz5lgdu\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/te9\/1\/16\/1f496.png\" alt=\"\ud83d\udc96\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/><\/span> He&#8217;s also beginning to get &#8220;stay.&#8221;\u00a0Other things we&#8217;ve learned about James: He gives kisses. He&#8217;s glued to a human as much as possible. He plays rough. He will take &#8220;no&#8221; from a big male with a deep voice, but not from a fearful squealer . He let&#8217;s us put our hands all over him, and in his food bowl while he&#8217;s eating.\u00a0 He will counter surf if you give him the opportunity. He does not bother you while you&#8217;re eating. He can be leash-walked. Fireworks do not bother him. He&#8217;s house-trained. When he&#8217;s bored, he&#8217;ll play with a dog bed. Otherwise, he is not destructive. Very sweet and playful. He may take some time to bond and adapt, but very ready for a home of his own. To be considered a medium flight risk, recommend double leash with a martingale collar and harness as a precaution.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>HEALTH &amp; WELFARE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Had an eye injury and the eye was removed. No health issues noted. Needs high quality fresh food and lots of love and patience. All dogs have been spayed\/neutered, updated on all shots and microchipped. Import papers, Rabies and DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis &amp; Kennel Cough, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza virus, Parvovirus) Vaccine Certificates will be provided.
