Lady Freethinker (LFT) is a nonprofit media organization led by Nina Kate Jackel with the goal of achieving a free and compassionate world for all species.
LFT publishes news, petitions and more to fight cruelty to animals, and also goes beyond publishing to work with organizations on the ground fighting against the cruel dog and cat meat trade.
Willow is a dog that has dumped at the 300 dogs farm. Heather Heath adopted him and since then Team Willow has been the major player in raising awareness about dog meat trade in Korea. SaveKoreanDogs and Willow Wish have been together for three years.
Willow’s Wish was founded on the desire to end the dog and cat meat trade. Through research and cultural awareness and understanding, we see the ability to achieve this long term goal through multiple targets. The mission of Willow’s Wish is to offer viable solutions to globally improve animal welfare through education, sterilization, legislation, conservation and adoption.
Dogs Without Borders
Dogs Without Borders and SKD have been working together since 2017. Dogs Without Borders is based in Los Angeles, taking in dogs from SKD rescued from dog meat trader in Korea and replace/rehome them for happy endings in California. Its been a wonderful partnership.
Koreandog .org is a group of volunteer campaigners led by Giny Woo based in San Jose in California. We are lucky to have such a loyal and compassionate partner in the fight against the dog meat trade. Koreandogs.org is the pioneer in the fight and raising awareness. Koreandogs.org specializes in petitions, campaign and leafleting and have been supporting Savekoreandogs from the beginning in 2013.
Leader Of The Pack
Terrie adopted one of the dogs from Junkyard back in 2016 and she got back to me after a couple of years to take more dogs. Sharon works with them mostly. Terri and Tammy rescue and board in Stouffville, Ontario and Georgetown, ON.
Start Rescue is another wonderful partner in the US, who helps us to find new homes for our wonderful dogs in America.
We are looking forward to work closely together to save many more dogs.
Yim is the head of the young animal right activist team specializing in rescue. He organized a nation wide march in July 2018 going across the country. Nami showed them a slaughterhouse in Gimpo City and that was the beginning of the team work. Both worked hard to shut down while Nami in close contact with the city official Jo. It followed another big rescue in 2019 Nami named Jess 2 in April & Jess 3 in May total 82 dogs literally saved from slaughtering for the meat.
Nami and Yim met with mayor of Gimpo City, mayor Jung together handed over 63344 signatures to mayor Jung. The mayor’s office was very helpful when Nami and Yim tried to shut down Meat Dog Auction House. It was early August that we finally came to an agreement and the auction house was demolished. Nami and Yim work together hand in hand.
