Dean- Fostered near Chicago

Dean is being fostered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His brother James is in the same home but has been adopted so his foster mom is keen to find that very special home for Dean. He was a fearful dog when he first went to her but has been through a lot of rehabilitation since being there. He is a neutered male Korean Jindo mix, roughly 1 year old. Vaccines are up to date. He is a sweet, gentle soul who loves to carry stuffed animals around the house, and does not chew them up! He loves attention when he feels comfortable and learns to trust you. He offers kisses freely! He needs an outdoorsy or active adopter and a calm environment inside the home. He would prefer to be placed with a neutral or more submissive dog (or to be the only dog in the home). He would do best without cats although he currently lives in a home with cats and he is doing much better every day in his understanding that cats are off limits.

He is still rather fearful with strangers and some noises. A little afraid with other family members (but not his Mom) but goes to them when coaxed. His anxiety manifests in flight not aggression. He will need an experienced adopter who will work hard to continue his training or arrange training with a fearful dog trainer. He will also require a tracking collar. His foster would prefer a home visit and a period of time to transfer trust.

Dean’s rescue was called Jun’s rescue and you can read more about that here: https://savekoreandogs.org/juns-rescue-early-june-2018/
