Amara was making good progress at the sanctuary. She was beginning to trust quiet and patient people and even go on walks. When she was moved to the new kennel she began showing signs of stress. Amara has a way to go, but in the right home she’ll have a great life. She would be good as an only pet, or with another calm, confident dog in the home.

PERSONALITY & TEMPERAMENT
Likes dogs – No children under 12 – Cats not tested – Needs secured / fenced yard.
Medium to high trauma. Sweet but very timid. Needs an experienced owner to work through her fears. May take some time to bond and trust her human. To be considered a high flight risk, must double leash with a martingale collar and harness as a precaution.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Amara has been exhibiting “self soothing stress behavior” by going in circles in her kennel. There are remedies for this stress induced behavior, but it’s not practical to address them at the shelter. Her best option is a furever home that can provide her the one-on-one time.
No physical health issues noted. Needs high quality fresh food and lots of love and patience. All dogs have been spayed/neutered, updated on all shots and microchipped. Import papers, Rabies and DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza virus, Parvovirus) Vaccine Certificates will be provided. Travel crate and accessories also provided.
